Support TLP's Endowment Campaign

Dear friends and community:

Since its founding in 2018 The Latinx Project has been at the vanguard in the current renaissance in the field of Latinx Studies, becoming the national reference for what a public facing Latinx Studies Center should be in the 21st Century.  Support from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the office of the Provost, and major funding from Mellon and Ford Foundation, has allowed us to get to this point, and to produce cutting-edge programming and exhibitions open to our students and the public at large.  Five years later, we are proud of what we have achieved and ready to consolidate and expand our work. Toward this goal, we seek to build an endowment that secures our work into the future in order to continue functioning as the model for interdisciplinary and collaborative Latinx Studies, by uplifting Latinx art, culture, history, and creativity.

In particular, we seek to support the following key distinguishing programs:

• Artist in Residence where artists are invited to participate in the NYU community and receive support for their work.
• Curatorial Open Call for exhibitions that explore issues of relevance to our evolving community.
• The Miriam Jiménez Román Afro Latinx Fellowship for scholars whose research advances the study of Afro-Latinx communities.
• Intervenxions, an online publication featuring original writings, criticism, and interviews.

Please contribute anything you can to help us achieve our goal! You can also write to us at latinxproject@nyu.edu for information about sponsorship opportunities to support specific areas within our programming.

With gratitude!

TLP Team.
