GSWG Conference Open Call

TLP’s Graduate Student Working Group provides enhanced support for a collaborative community engaged in the field of Latinx Studies. Currently, The Latinx Project GSWG Symposium seeks contributions that speak to the world-making activity that happens in and with the dark. All graduate students are welcome to participate. Honoree Nominations

We would love to hear from you as we identify honorees to be recognized at our next Spring Party in April 2026. Please use this form to nominate one individual across regions, generations, or fields who excel in areas of arts, scholarship, criticism, or activism. Please feel free to self-nominate. Each person can only submit one nomination. Please submit nominations by November 7, 2025.

Open Call: Arts Programs

The center hosts open calls for Artist-in-Residence and Curatorial Proposals. Both opportunities are currently closed. All artists and curators are eligible to apply. The next Artist-in-Residence open call will open in spring 2026.

 Miriam Jiménez Román Fellowship

The Miriam Jiménez Román Fellowship supports post-doctoral candidates and junior scholars whose research advances the study of Afro-Latinx communities in the United States. The next open call will open in spring 2026.

 

Public Humanities Fellowship

TLP’s Public Humanities Fellowship will offer up to 10 graduate students at NYU or Inter-University Doctoral Consortium institutions the opportunity to gain career-building experience with local arts and culture organizations. All graduate students are eligible to apply and select the nonprofit organization of their choice. The application process for the 2025 Public Humanities Fellowship is now closed.

 Intervenxions

Intervenxions is an online publication of TLP that features original writings, criticism, and interviews exploring contemporary Latinx Art, Politics, & Culture. While pitches are welcome year-round, the publication actively publishes during the months of the academic year from September through May.

TLP sponsors Faculty Working Groups investigating scholarly topics of interest in order to create opportunities for interdisciplinary/collaborative projects with faculty & students. Pitches and inquiries are accepted year-round.

TLP Conference

The most recent open call conference, Aesthetics of Joy and Refuge in Contemporary Culture, was hosted in October 2026. At this time there are no open calls.
