Pitch Guidelines
Please submit your original idea via the contact form. We do not accept or reply to pitches sent via email.
Intervenxions is The Latinx Project’s online publication, featuring original writings, criticism, and interviews exploring contemporary Latinx art, politics, and culture.
We accepts pitches on a rolling basis and typically publishes during the academic year (September to May).

We don't publish personal essays, op-eds, fiction, or poetry.
Guidelines
Word length: 1,000 to 2,500 words
Style: We use Chicago Manual of Style. We aim to publish writing that is accessible to a broad audience and draw from research, experience, and interviews.
Images: It is the writer's responsibility to secure image rights for published article.
Contributor Benefits
We offer a modest honorarium for independent writers, graduate students, and freelance contributors. This also includes faculty not currently in a tenured position.
$300 for reviews, interviews, short essays (up to 1,500 words)
$400 for profiles, and long-form content (1,500 words or more)
All writers have the opportunity to be considered for Intervenxions’ annual printed volume.
What to Expect
An editorial team consisting of three to four people, including editors, NYU staff, and faculty will review your pitch. The editorial team selects pitches based on the originality of the content, its relevance for Intervenxions, and the quality of the pitch and writing sample(s). The editorial team typically makes a decision within three weeks of receiving a pitch.
